TrueScripts Sponsors Wish Ball 2021

February 18, 2021

The gala, presented by TrueScripts, will air on Facebook to raise funds for critically ill children in South Carolina

For more than 35 years, the South Carolina community has partnered with Make-A-Wish® South Carolina to deliver hope to kids facing critical illnesses and their families. After an unprecedented and challenging year, hope is more essential than ever for the more than 400 children waiting for a wish in the state. Make-A-Wish® South Carolina is proud to partner with presenting sponsor, TrueScripts, to present the eighth annual Wish Ball. The virtual gala invites the community to come together to ignite hope for wish kids. The virtual event will air Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 6pm on Facebook.

Wishes are more than a nice thing. For kids battling critical illnesses they transform anxiety into hope and fear into strength. Anticipation of a wish-come-true can be a powerful motivator for wish kids to face and overcome the challenges in their way. During 2020 and the pandemic, kids have been more isolated and vulnerable than ever before. They need the stars in our community to ignite hope through life-changing wish experiences.

With a dynamic virtual show full of fun, inspiration and heartwarming surprises, Make-A-Wish delivers a powerful front-row seat to the life-changing effects of wishes. For guests, the charitable evening offers the unique chance to behold the incredible outcomes of wishes and the opportunity to create transformational moments for future S.C. wish families – right from the comfort of their home.

“We are excited to celebrate with our supporters and wish families at Wish Ball. The tremendous joy they have created, particularly over the last year, has been heartwarming to witness,” said Misty Farmer, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. “Our donors, volunteers and supporters are at the very forefront of our mission and we feel this event is theirs as much as it is ours. Together, we’ll celebrate and together, we’ll create more hope and joy for the precious children in our state who need it most.”

Dean Merder, president of TrueScripts, stated, “We have witnessed firsthand the transformational power a wish has for a wish family. Not just the child but the entire family benefits from the strength a wish creates. At TrueScripts, we value making a difference in our community, and by partnering with Make-A-Wish South Carolina, we know we are leaving an indelible mark on the lives of local families.”

At TrueScripts, giving isn’t just an occasional act—it’s woven into the fabric of who we are. From the company’s inception, our founders envisioned a culture that prioritized not just business success, but also the betterment of our communities. This commitment is reflected in everything we do, from our annual profit tithing to the personal generosity we encourage among our team members. Each year, TrueScripts donates 10% of its profits to charitable organizations. This isn’t a practice we adopted over time; it’s a cornerstone of our mission. It underscores our belief that success isn’t solely measured in dollars, but in the impact we can have on others. Our Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) program empowers every team member to make a difference. Each year, employees receive funds to donate to nonprofit organizations they’re passionate about. This program fosters personal connections to causes, ensuring our giving resonates deeply and authentically. But it doesn’t stop there. Around the holidays, team members are gifted additional RAK funds to spread kindness in everyday life. Whether it’s paying for a stranger’s coffee, leaving an extra-generous tip at a favorite restaurant, or helping a family in need, the choice is theirs. These acts of kindness create ripple effects, bringing joy and relief in ways that may seem small but often mean the world to those on the receiving end. In addition, we maintain a dedicated pool of RAK funds overseen by a committee. This resource allows us to respond to extraordinary circumstances—a coworker’s friend battling cancer, a family rebuilding after a house fire, or countless other situations where immediate support can provide a lifeline. At TrueScripts, giving extends beyond financial contributions. Our team actively participates in volunteer opportunities, faith-based services, and community events. Our goal is not only to share our expertise in prescription benefits but to create an environment of support and encouragement, fostering hope for those around us. We are proud of our giving culture and the difference we make—individually and collectively. Through intentional acts of kindness, faith-driven service, and community support, TrueScripts reaffirms its mission to not only improve lives but to inspire others to do the same.
